1) Will my request for admission be approved?
No, not necessarily.  Your request could be denied if our services do not meet your needs.
2) Do I need a medical examination before my admission?
No, but if a medical examination is necessary, we will inform you.  However, if you are taking medications, we will require your medication list.  You must bring sufficient medication for your stay.  You are responsible for the cost of your medications.
3) Do I need to bring money?
Yes, if you wish to purchase cigarettes, personal toiletries or use the public pay phone, etc.
4) What financial assistance is available for my travel expenses?
You may qualify for a Northern Health Travel Grant.  You may also qualify for financial assistance if you are receiving Social Services benefits. 
5) Is parking available?
Yes, free parking is available.  However, clients do not have access to their vehicle during their stay.
6) What happens when I arrive at the center?
A staff member will escort you to your private room and conduct an inventory of all your belongings.  Articles that are not accepted in the center will be stored during your stay and be returned to you when you leave.
7) What are the rules regarding smoking and cigarettes?
Smoking is permitted in the designated area only.  The client must pay for his or her cigarettes. Maison Renaissance does not purchase cigarettes and does not lend money to purchase cigarettes.
8) May I have visitors?
Visitors are normally not allowed but if the clinical team determines that it is in your best interest, visits will be permitted.
9) Am I permitted to make telephone calls?
Yes, telephone calls are permitted.  A pay phone is available.  you may also use pre-paid long distance calling cards.
10) May I send and receive mail?
Yes, you may send and receive mail from Monday to Friday.  Stamps may be purchased at the reception office.
11) Who is responsible to prepare the meals?
We offer nutritious and balanced meals.  However, clients are responsible to clean up after meals and keep the dining rooms neat and tidy.
12) Who is responsible for the housekeeping tasks?
You are responsible for the housekeeping tasks of your living area.  A task schedule is given at your arrival.
13) Who is responsible for the laundry?
Each client is responsible to wash their bedding and personal clothing.  You are encouraged to bring your own laundry soap and softener.
